WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FIRST TREATMENT

On your first acupuncture visit, expect to walk into a peaceful, relaxing office. After a consultation, expect the doctor to take your pulse by placing three fingers on the inside of your wrist.

  • You will lie comfortably on a treatment table

  • Tiny needles will be inserted, probably on your arms and legs, possibly on your head, chest, or back

  • Rest comfortably for a while, and maybe fall asleep

What you might feel

  • Energy moving in your body

  • Sleepy or meditative energy

  • Calm, relaxed, peaceful, balanced

Please remember

  • Come on time for your session

  • Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing (no tight jeans or underwire bras)

  • Drink plenty of water on the day of your treatment

  • Don't schedule other therapies on the same day
